Whats the going rate for eel skins?

Just curious what the general price range is for eel skins in the few shops that carry them. Anyone know about what they paid last time they bought em?

No, no, no. we’re 30… 30, three zero.

Up here on the cape it's .90 cents to a buck and a quarter. Buzzards Bay shops like Maco's has them but those shops are winding down on open times as the season closes out.

Why even try.........

They should never be more than the cost of a live eel. best is to learn to skin them. its easy. Then you buy live ones and fish them. Save the dead ones and rig them or skin them.

Saltheart: I pretty much don't fish live eels... my eels spend their days in the freezer. The eels I can get are often small. They would work for jigs or needles, but it is hard to find the large ones that fit a danny, which is what I am looking to do. I going to call back the place where I got a quote to see if I am mistaken on his price...

I got burnt big time at Big Bear Hunting and Fishing in Glocester RI. Beverly charged me $3.75 each!!!
That's one of many reasons why I don't trade there anymore.

No boat, back in the suds.
