I had 14 or so Bass from shore from 5#s to the 20# range with largest being 27#s and worth a shore bass daily....

Also had a GREAT time with the many I hung/fished/met with out on the Derby

I had the time of my life. Tried to see as much of the island (well, the shore anyways) as I could. Caught 15 bass, mostly small. Biggest was 20 pounds, which got me my first slip. I was lucky enough to tag along with some heavy hitters to a UDL tagged "Google point", and lucky again to fish with them at the only place we found consistent fishing during the week I was there. Thanks to JohnR and Basic Patrick for their tutelage, and thanks to all the other house mates for making me feel welcome. I can't wait until next year.

It's not the bait
At the end of your line
It's the fishing hole
Where all the fish is blind

Week 1 was off a little. No large fish but learned some new areas. Went nuts with the Albies and Bones and learned some helpful tips for next year. I got 3rd place shore daily for bass one day.

I only got to fish MV for 5 days this year next year I gotta go back to the 2 week+ schedule..
15 or so shore bass, nothing under 32" only up to around 18#
As always had a great time fishing with friends, Hardcore From Shore rode shotgun with me, and as always good times at the Basic Shack..

Also got to break in the new ride the right way...
2008 Jeep Unlimited JK only had about 500 miles when the Cape Poge sticker got slapped on her....

I fished the last week of the derby with mixed results. The first weekend I had a wedding that tied me up. I ended up only weighing in 2 fish, one blue one bass and no daily's.

Met some really cool people and fished Menemsha hard and was rewarded with my first albie on the fly rod and not 5 minutes later I got my second albie on the fly rod. 2nd was over 8lbs but I let it swim away as I had no fly rod pin and no need to kill a fish that you can't eat (at least eat with pleasure)

Always good to get down to the island even for it's sheer beauty!

PS Next year I'm entering the fly rod division too!
