Skinz repairs
When I was taking off my Skinz top recently the rubber ripped at the base of the neck where the rubber is heat taped and stitched at the bottom of the neck where it becomes one with the denier nylon. It is not warranteed and repairs are estimated to be $60.00 to $100.00, which isn't outrageous. But I was thinking of epoxying the rubber under the seam where it ripped from. There is enough room from where the factory stitching is to the very edge of the nylon to possibly repair this myself. Anyone else do this or have this problem. I only wore the top a dozen or so times. I should have been more careful how I grabbed the rubber neck and spread it apart before raising over my head. But I always get this freikin closed in feeling if I dont get the rubber neck off quickly.

Look at it this way;
The Skinz top is an integral part of your equipment. It is every bit as important as your waders/rod/reel.
Have it repaired professionally you will thank yourself in the future.

You could try Goop, more flexible than epoxy and water proof.

Ben, the more recent blue top is the one I have. I did contact the company and received email from a very nice lady there. The quote was $60.00 to $100.00 plus $10.00 return shipping. I think the price is o.k. and I have no problem with it not being waranteed. I was just curious if any of the do it yourselfers had any experience with repairs such as this.

I'd consider the grunden neoprene neck seal to go over the aquaskinz top.
If I had to pay the maximum of $100 plus shipping for a repair then I'd consider a new top. A used top in good condition with no defects can't be much more the the max. repair quote. Then you'll have spare parts which are worth something because tears are inevitable like leaks in waders.

Good point..........thats why I solicited evryone's ideas here.
I checked Grunden's for the neck seal and didn't see what your talking about. Any further description, so I can check further?

I called both the store and Grunden's both said that they do not exist. I must have been dreaming that day thinking I saw the neck seal. oophs, sorry.
How about the 3mm neoprene hood by Aquaskinz. It has a neck to it.

I tried the two-part epoxy. We'll see what happens. I'll have to be tender putting on/and taking off.
