Running up the score
OK, so this latest bashing will likely reignite the debate- Is Bill running up the score? Come on now- why is Brady in there with a 38 point lead with 8 minutes to play? And he is ruinning a QB sneak to boot! Bill should stop showing off and start protecting the Franchise!
Part of me loves this but part of me thinks it is somewhat careless....
lets here it...

You can never score too many points...
And besides, do you have any idea how good this will look on Brady's stats

No--it won't matter if some coach decides to rub it in during a rebuilding year.
It'll matter THIS year when some coach gets miffed and puts a bounty on Brady's knees, while he's still dropping back to throw up 49-14 or something equally as one sided.

The Jets certainly look like a team searching for their soul. One of the biggest disapointments this season. I'm not complaining, makes our job that much easier. They should be a better team.

People and media who say they're running up the score can eff off.
How soon they forget the Colts spanking the Patriots for something like 35 points in the second half of the AFC game last year.
Points and come backs happen. Obviously at some point you pull Brady to protect the franchise, but otherwise go wild. I completely agreed with putting Brady back in after that Cassell interception last week. Maybe that's just the paranoid New England sports fan in me, but it made sense.
Also, if they want to make a point after being crucified for "spygate" I'm all for it. National media and Patriots haters are getting what they deserved. They should have known making a bigger deal out of it then what it was would bite them right in the ass by fueling a team that has always played well when they feel persecuted. Belichick himself couldn't have dreamed up a better way to motivate the team...

With the salary cap everyone has the oppurtunity to build a good team. They don't have the ridiculous payrolls of the Yanks or Sox compared to other teams. So if they are able to sign and develop the right players to produce a high scoring offense why not use it. Besides they cannot afford to play half ass because they are going to need there high scoring offense when playing the Colts next week.

Some good points about scoring as much as possible but if Brady were to get hurt while playing with a 38 point lead, you would all be saying why the eff did Bill leave him in there?
Right?
I say get enough points to win comfortably and then protect the key players.

Of course they would be.
The Colts coming back from a deficit at the start of the third quarter, is WAY different than the Deadskins coming back from a 38-0 hole with 10 minutes left in the game--that's apples to oranges.
The guy wearing #17 and playing QB yesterday didn't look at all like Peyton Manning

I think that BB's philosophy is never, NEVER quit, Not even to be polite. Once the habit of quitting is instilled, it won't go away. Besides how many times over the years did we have to endure crushings? One Superbowl stands out. This aint Pop Warner. I do understand protecting the stars though...

I think you run a much larger risk of injuries when you're not playing at 100%, like you should be every play.

Well whats the issue, running up points or risking injury to Brady? It's not one in the same.

This team is on the virge of breaking all passing related records in the NFL. This is a tremendous thing for Brady and Moss and anyone else involved. While it may be considered running up points , I view it as letting his players performa nd get the records they deserve. brady has always been a team player. he handed the ball off when that was the type of team he had. he passed and ran etc when that was what he had. this year he has the passing assault team maybe never equaled in the league. Turn them loose and let them make history , he deserves it.

Strike King, I have to tell you, in all the posts I have ever read online, your signature pic and the quote "Life hits hard as little Eric finally realizes his team is a bunch of losers.." is possibly the funniest thing I have ever seen! Kudos!
Guys, remember Mike Irving going on and on about how the Pats were not that good because "they only won their Super Bowls by 3 points" or they are "not a dominating team" "they don't beat teams convincingly" Well, now what are they saying? I say we need to consider the source, other coaches have the most credibility to me.
Steve Young was almost in tears last night before MNF saying "they have to stop doing this to teams or, or, or......someone might no this to them someday!" Steve, give me a break, we'll deal with that when it happens...
Teams in the NFL aren't used to seeing what the Pats are doing, it will be a historic season and bottom line is people are jealous, and they are SCARED!!!
Go Pats.

Running up the score
No it has everything to do with the simple fact that the opposing teams are ill-prepared, undermanned in the talent department, and just plain suck. I remember years when we got it stuff up our breezer game after game by opposing teams and we took it like men.
Can you imagine the stupidity of a defensive coordinator not realizing that Vrabel was going wide in the end zone. And Belichek is supposed to answer for that by appologizing for scoring too many points.
I was proud of Brady for berating Koppen when he moved on 1st and goal with two yards to go for another touchdown. He showed his intensity. Sometimes I think Brady is a little complacent.

Compare these non-stories (and more to come) with media hacks like Michael Wilbon who suggested someone should take out Brady's knees. And I'm sure that whining bitch Polian is lobbying the competition committee for a mercy rule..
All of a sudden it's an issue and media story? Please

Maybe the NFL should issue another flag sort of like the challenge flag only make this one white. That way the other team can surrender. Maybe the team that is losing by 30-40 points could just walk off the field without being so embarassed (lol).
I am surprised that someone didn't bring up how the red sox should have let the rockies win one.

Did any other coaches stand up and admit sign stealing ( it is or was universal, you know) When Coach B and the Pats got jacked for 3/4 Million? When it was said that the Pats won by cheating (Players too)?
Well I guess this is what payback is like, they were taking it easy before, not now.
