cretex airbrush paint

I am new to plug building and just bought some createx water based paint for airbrushing. Does anyone know the ratio to thin the paint before use? thanks

Thinning cuts the color also - if the paint gets too thick to spray easily use createx airbrush extender. The color willhold and the paint will flow easily. Tobias is right - there is usually no need to thin createx.

If you are having trouble spraying paint it usually is the pressure used or a dirty needle or airbrush.

I find I often need to thin Createx. There is a wide variability in viscosity from color to color and batch to batch. I also have better control when the paint is thin and I can spray at lower pressures. I thin with Liquidtex air brush medium and aim for the viscosity of milk. I've been curious as to what others do.

I use the liquitex stuff too when too thick. Mostly spray as they are though, shake good if been sitting around a long time. I use 3 or 4 stainless 3/16 dia. ball bearings in the containers to help .

I think the greatex extender does a better job of thinning createx. It doesn't thin the color and is more compatable than liquitex. I use liquitex also and when doing so I use their reducer. I found that the pearl colors of createx doesn't handle as well with the liquitex reducer. I think their formulation is a slight bit different.
You also get a lot more from a bottle of paint using the reducer. As George has said the thinner paint allows a lower pressure and more controll of the airbrush.
