Is this a favorite song ever or just hendrix tunes. First is one of my favorite songs of all time.Second was a great hendrix song.Amazing the old videos on you tube.I've been watching Janis Joplin,Stevie Ray,Jimmy,The Doors,Led all morning. Thanks for this post it made my day.Didn't know you tube had all this stuff.
I saw Hendrix at Brown U in Oct of 68 I think (kind of hazy if you know what I mean) Jimi smashes his guitar at the end of the last set and I am right in front of the stage. I picked up about 1/4 of the busted Strat he was playing. I later traded it for an unmentionable substance.
In 1979 I was given Noel Redding's play list from the Montery Pop Festival. I had it for about 6 or 7 year and sold it for $200. Wish I had it now. I bet it's worth a fortune
Here is a decent & recent remake of this song from a recent TV series. The video shows pieces from the show but the song is cool... Playing it right now
I think that the best cover ever of a Hendrix tune was Little Wing, off the Layla album, by Derek and the Dominoes. Duane Allman soars on guitar. Clapton isn't too shabby, either
Wise men speak because they have something to say; Fools, because they have to say something.
Well no disrespect to jimi...but Dave Matthews band kicks ass on this song...there's about 35 versions of this live on utube and there's one with an electric violin solo somewhere too that is WOWEE
There used to be a tribute Band called mahogany rush , did great hendrix reenactment or whatever thay call it. Was around for years. i wonder if they still do it.
Frank Marino and Mahogany Rush. Not a tribute band but they did do several Hendrix tunes. I was just listening to one of their albums at work the other nite. Great band and SG player
Red House
Purple Haze
King Bee
