Frozen lakes?
It's getting cold and I need to fish. Does anybody have any ice thickness reports?

Head north or west for best bets.
Last Saturday I fished up in Westford over 4-5 of solid ice.
Some of that may have melted of the past few days, but with nights in the 20's and some cold days ahead, it should be setting up again.

I'll be checking out the Gardner, Ma. area next week. They usually have the good ice before I do closer to home. This snow fall is going to insulate the ice and make it dangerous. I like to see what I'm walking on early in the season.

Most ponds are frozen but some still have open areas. One of the local trout ponds is still open pretty good.

Maybe next weekend.
