NBA Ref's
Ok, I'm on the Celtics bandwagon and have been watching their games as well as other NBA contests. I'm sure my opinions are slightly impacted by Tommy's hometown style of broadcasting but the officiating seems horrible. I don't remember it ever being this bad. It goes both ways so I'm not saying it's unfair to the Celts, it's just bad.
Is it me or does the officiating suck?

Maybe since they cracked down on the ref-gambling problem, their taking it out on the players?
Or, maybe they are taking it out on the teams that "cost them money" by not covering the over/under bet?

Right On, Luds!!!
It was horrible on both sides of the court from that one gray-haired, blind-arsed, nincompoop that kept making these no contact, CONTACT calls. I mean a couple of them were blatantly bad.
I've always thought that it is ludicrous for these out of shape morons to attempt to keep up with these professional atheletes at that level of play. This particular ref was out of position for the majority of his "calls" last night, and what makes this offense worse is if, and when, it affects the outcome of the game.

Hoop refs go on interpretation so much and each one seems to have different opinions on walking and fouls that it can get very frustrating to watch basketball period, it has been that way since I started watching b ball. Different refs call things different ways but what really pisses me off is when they call the game one way for 3 quarters and then completely change the way they finish calling the game just irritates me. When the game gets close and they start letting everything go or start calling every thing under the sun is ridiculous. Just be consistent and I will be happy. Happens in all sports though. No consistency. Go Celts.

NBA has its own set of 'rules'.... Traveling, 3 seconds, and lane violations are not whistled 80 percent of the time. Nothing more than @#$%^&* handball.....

I was at the game last night, and the calls were so bad, the crowd went nuts.
I think they are trying to keep it a bit cleaner, (its supposed to be a non-contact sport). But some of the calls last night were just WRONG. They kicked arse in the last quarter anyway, it was all good.

Things done at the last possible minute are done with the greatest possible information. Procrastination is, therefore, the most efficient means of doing things.

I used to agree with that but it's changed a little. There are of course players in the league that give it a bad name but I don't think the average player in the NBA is quite as thugish as they were a couple years ago. I think the game is getting better too but the officiating needs to catch up.
