Rhode Island fling?

Am I right to believe that next weekend we are hooking up in Rhody? If so, let this be the thread for all the info and tid-bits.

The tackle shop is by the red star............ The road labeled as route 2 is actually route 1

Thanks Sandman! That really clears it up fer' me! LOL!

And, thanks for the map Fishpart.

So... If I go to the Misquamicut board walk / parking area, put it to my right an head straight down the road that parallels the beach, I should run right into it, right???

I couldn't resist...everytime I ask directions in RI I get something like..."It is right next to where the old AMES dept store used to be"...Like I know where the hell that is.

Hey, last night I had a 4X8 sheet of 3/4 in plywood nailed me in the shin at 11:30 at night while I was standing in the surf line. Hurt like hell and I thought something bit off my leg for a moment.
Yow! it is still sore.

OK - a few people have been asking about local lodging, here is the post Don put up from a previous tourney:

Quote:
Go to www.weekapaug.com there is a link to Misquamicut Business Assoc on the bottom of the page. There are a number of places listed. One of the best is Newland on Winnapaug RD. Very reasonable if you say you are a fisherman/fisherwoman.
Dang, almost forgot, Hey DaveS, yeh, I'm heading out there too, a couple others have asked me to bring them out too. I'll bring them out because they are experienced enough creepin' on rocks... . But you don't need to carry me out there but you do need to e-mail me the pic you were trying to post

I got a feeling that this year, we are gonna get into some Deluxe Model bass . I remember last years fling, and while it was nice to meet alot of ya, the fishing stunk. The weather looks a bit wet for the weekend, but that moon is dropping and we should have a ball. I cant wait till Friday John, we should get some fish out there if we spend some time. The best part of the the trip to Naps is the walk. I just like looking around at all that fishy water and trying to picture how many large are hiding 'tween the rocks. I'll bring the oxygen bottle for us just in case we need some after the walk lmaooooo.

OK - high tide at Watch Hill is at 8:30 and Newport is 7:43 - sunset is about 6:20 or so - oh, and we'll have just a sliver of moonlight. That leaves us on the long walk best by 7pm at the latest (for easy walking ) and the breachways crowding, err, dumping out at about 10pm ... I vote for a 2:30 pm cookout so the fishing can start in the last hour of daylight...

Suggestions?

And let's start figuring who brings what... Don, the grilles are still back there, right?

I've got the usual Burgers & Dogs...

Oh yeh, sOmEoNe pLeAsE bring utensils
