You are welcome Dennis. Its a great rod for surf fishing. One of the most versatile blanks. I always like building Black and Gold rods. they look so classy when finished. good luck landing a big one with the new rod.

S S X , it took me a long time before deciding what i wanted search and research, and how you fish is very important. what you will use, etc, etc...and believe me it wasnt easy.
ps. caught a small blue mon. lost him in the suds but it was great for the first time on the rod.

Sorry buddy but I seldom build rods where my cost on just the blank is in the $50 range. Pretty much I'm only building on Lamis , AllStar and Loomis blanks. I will be looking at some Rainshadows but not sure whether I'll build on them yet.
These rods that people are so happy with have about 20 hours work just in the thread art. I'm not putting that much time into building on anything but the better blanks. If you use Sic guides , it could cost almost 50 bucks just on the guides and reel seat.
