Question Bugged

This heat has brought out the mosquitos bigtime at dusk and dawn. I was totally assaulted last night despite a thorough coating of Cutter Advanced and a secondary glaze of OFF. Apparently the mosquitos are more advanced than Cutter and think OFF means ON.

So, what product have you guys found effective to keep the little bastages out of your face and off your skin? Way too hot to cover up last night and they were persistently swarming around my face and biting despite the potions! They spoiled an otherwise fishy evening and I hate being annoyed when I am fishing..

The only thing that I've found to work is DEET. Anything else is a waste of putting a carcinogen on your skin - it might as well be worth it.

They sell bottles of >95% DEET. Of course, it will dissolve your line and any other plastic, but it does work. They may still buzz around, but they probably won't bite.

I tried a head net a few years back. What I learned was you can't see in the dark if you have a black net over your face. On that same trip, I learned that gloves don't necessarily work. I had about 25 skeeter bites on each hand through kayak gloves.

Wind is nice, at least half your body will be bite free.

I had the same problem last night, except I forgot the spray completely. I couldnt fish. Every two cranks of the handle I found myself swating at my face. Miserable experience, even missed a few fish due to my madness.

"Skin So Soft" by Avon.............

non-carcinogenic,

and works like a masking agent to the toothy
and bothersome winged nasties!!!!

discovered it, rod-busting, in FL and it works well on the
no-seeums down there and the squitos up here.

i've also used "Skintastic" by OFF with good results,
but the "Skin So Soft" is by far tha BEST

good luck with the skeeters, spin...........

Cutter Advanced doesn't do %$%$%$%$ for me.

Repel 28% DEET does the trick. Family formula, and it doesn't smell all that bad.
