Need a spinning rod for BFT

I have a buddy who fishes the BFT bite in the CC Bay and points north. He invites me out a few times a season (I live in central CT so don't get up that often).

I am looking for a spinning rod for casting to and fighting these fish. I'd like to keep the cost in the 100 to 150 dollar range. I'd be fishing from a 23 foot center console, if that helps. I've got the reel covered.

Anybody have a recommendation for this?

Ask littleround what rods he uses. They are amazing! And they are priced right. I forget the name of them but they are fantastic.

I've used the "premier" version of this stick, and it's really popular, but its about $190 -- the 7'6" in the triumph line seems like the same darn stick for $60 cheaper.

I'd go with the 9500 on the penn, these fish are all bigger this year and the oversize drag will be worthwhile. The Fin-nor offshore 75 is at about the same price point and I like it alot more than my Penns (worked very well first time out of the box this week too).

I've just bought a 7' St Croix MH casting rod with a Fin Nor OF95 spinning reel spooled with 600 yards of 65lb PP. It looks real nice, but I haven't had a chance to try it out yet.
