Wood ? 3-hook gibbs darters

What type of wood was used in the early 3-darters 2oz.? I recently spun one out of birch. Looked identical but it was about 1/2oz heavier w/o hardware. I through wired it also. W/o a middle hook and a 4gram slug in the original spot the tail end sank w/5/0 siwash. Took off hook and the plug floated pretty close to the old style. I think the one I modeled is a lighter wood. possibly white cedar or pine. By the way it didn't swim too bad but it always wanted to swoop up. Hope you guys can help.

If it is an oldie by Stan it would probably be pine, but he was known to use whatever he had handy. I have a few and they are pine.
