It's official. We'll be closing our 1077 Aquidneck Avenue location at the end of the month, moving down the road a couple miles, and opening the doors at our new building at 47 Valley Road in Middletown, Rhode Island on August 1st. We have long outgrown our current location so we're excited to be moving up and out. There will be minimal down time, a day at the most, if at all where you won't be able to walk in. Internet and phone orders will see no disruption at all and we plan to be shipping orders from our new location before the month is out.
Our new building will have a lot of additional features and space and will be a great upgrade in every way. Online customers, those who call on the phone, and customers who visit the store in person will all see benefits and improvements.
1. With the additional space we'll have dedicated areas for all the ways you fish; surf, boat, fly, and more. For example, no more digging through surf rods to find a fly rod. Expect more product in all categories as well and a better experience at the store all around.
2. Since it's a stand alone building and Middletown sign laws aren't as strict we'll be able to have a visible sign out front (you won't find yourself passing by the building 3-4 times before finally finding it) as well as signs on the building itself.
3. For our online and phone customers the new dedicated shipping, receiving, and warehouse area will result in faster shipping and more accurate orders. This means more orders will be recieved in two days or less using standard shipping methods.
4. A business class phone system with more lines will mean far less chance of ending up in voice mail.
5. Parking. It's our parking lot. All ours. No battling with hair salon patrons or the owner of said hair salon...
6. And much more news to come soon as we get closer to making the switch.
We'll keep you posted as things progress and hope to have a grand opening party some time in early August once things settle down. A special thanks to Jack Mancini, Ray, Will, and the rest of crew from Mancini Construction for getting the building ready for us to move into.
