My Mother has passed

Gertrude Dorothea (Francis) Jacobs Has gone to her reward. After a very long year of illness of illness and setback, she finally had no more fight left. A Graduate of P-town High School, North Truro townie, World traveler, model for Tiny Worthington's Fishnet Industries, Mother of 5 myself, Robert , Diane, James and Patrick. Married to Daniel R who passed on in 1990. She was a very special soul, it has been my distinct honor to have known her and a privelidge to have been her oldest son. Please , a few words from you all to smooth the road...

He that would make his own liberty secure, must guard even his enemy from oppression; for if he violates this duty, he establishes a precedent that will reach to himself.

Fred, you and your family, will be in my thoughts and prayers.

You can often tell the quality of the parents by the kids they've raised. Having the pleasure of knowing you and having met two of your brothers, I'm know she was a great lady.

Tough times for sure but she is up there looking down with your dad. Keep the memories fond and when you are out at night on that quiet beach, wind in your face, look up and say hello.

Fred, very sorry for your loss. And like the others said, knowing you a little, I imagine she was special. Keep on being you and any empyness you feel will fade with time. Time spent fishing will help once things settle of course. Prayers for you and your family and your Mom.

Unhappy that's a sad thing

Fred... It's real tough loosing your Mom because she was always the one you ran too as a little tyke to give you comfort and to wipe away your tears.

All i can tell you is....Right now your filled with grief
and sadness and your feeling rather over whelmed by it all.... but later on, many more fond memories will drift back up and surface into your conscience mind that will give you a reason to smile and experience comfort and Joy.

My mother's name was also Gertrude...and the other day i was holding a small pottery pitcher she had crafted out of clay....many many years ago but i could still feel her fingers in the molding of it...because it wasn't a perfectly smooth surface like store bought china has... and that gave me a connection back to her.....like a blind man reading brail or a face with his hands.... ya know...

So you need to find that special something of hers that will give you that kind of connected feeling.

You'll carry her love for you in your heart always...
and that my friend will help heal you over time.

My condolences Fred.
