First cast, last cast

My brother (BrianL) and I hit a couple good ones last night. Fish havent't been in the usual reliable places though. A bit of moving around has been the ticket for the last week or so. Anyways its a weekend night with lots of people about. We try a spot and get a couple decent fish up to 30#, then it shuts down. We move to another place where two guys are just leaving and Brian gets a 34# fish on the first cast. We pick fish for about one hour in the mid to upper 20# class. Its getting close to daybreak and I make the famous last cast which produces a season best 43# fish that kicked my ass...

NICE Better than what we did out at Cutty You should have brought those fish out to the island instead of leaving them on the mainland.

Sweet ! Glad some one is getting some large!

Even better that you beat your brother's fish by 9 lbs. Lucky to be able to share that with him for sure.

Classic Kodak moment that will last a forever.

It truly was a super session! I'm not a frequent shore fisherman, so catching good numbers of big fish from the beach is always a treat. The 34 was my biggest from dry land. Seeing Backbeach haul in that cow shortly afterwards was an even better treat. He's not kidding about last cast either. We were literally done and agreed to take one more. On his cast he lands the monster, after he got control of his fish, I cast afterwards and had a large fish nearly spool me as well. I wasn't as fortunate with mine, as my line parted a minute or two into the battle. Still a hell of a good night overall.

Thanks for the nice haul, Mikey. (When are we going again?????)

Thanks,

You're still the "Dangler" of the year in my mind....

We'd probably get banned for posting the pic....

Maybe after a few harpoons today I'll get my courage up and do it...

Everyone stay tuned.......................
