SoCo Vacation

Spent last week down in Westerly for out annual fall vacation. Had 5 days of solid blitzing fish the first part of the week. Towards the weekend of the Habs Tourny the fishing got tough. No daytime blitzing and if there was it was way out. At night it was mostly blues on eels and plugs. Great time as usual and there were so many others down there it made for such a comical and fun filled week.

Had my friend Steve (Offshore24) down from Maine to experience fall beach fishing for the first time. I think he will be back.

Didn't get too many pics of fish because everyone would be fishing and hooked up. We were lucky to get any pics at all. Tried using the fly rod exclusively during the day. It worked for the most part. Had one day of bloody nuckles.

Of course my son, Tynan, when not in school got into some action. All though not as much as I would have liked since the fishing slacked off when he was out of school.

My other son Conner got a little neglected while we were fishing but he made some friends with the eels. He also was our spotter for breaking fish.

Pretty proud of my wife this week. She went for a deep wade and ended up swimming, my bad. Hooked up to numerous fish in between the guys and had no problem taking the blues off herself. Allowed me to keep fishing.

Nice pictures Casey. I was planning on heading down there at the end of the month. Do you need to get a sticker/permit to drive on the beach?

Also I didn't know you fished both ways? Those fly rods can be a lot of fun!

Nice fishing with you too John. I love that quote "Better to have loved and lost than to have not loved at all".
Tyson, yep fun stuff. I broke a fly rod on a blue and had to run out and buy a new one. The fish were on such small bait that the fly was the best presentation out there. Yes you need to get a CRMC Permit for $100 out of state. Thanks guys for the kind words. Paul ,you too.

Great pics Casey.

I thought the best sleep for you was with Steve while driving?
