Idiots....

Is it really necessary to turn into an animal to save a couple of hundred dollars on a friggin TV. One guy dead and a pregnant woman in the hospital......people suck around the holidays

Wal-Mart worker dies after shoppers knock him down

NEW YORK – A worker died after being trampled by a throng of unruly shoppers when a suburban Wal-Mart opened for the holiday sales rush Friday, authorities said.

At least three other people were injured.

Wal-Mart Stores Inc., in Bentonville, Ark., would not confirm the reports of a stampede but said a "medical emergency" had caused the company to close the store, which is in Valley Stream on Long Island.

Nassau County police said the 34-year-old worker was taken to a hospital where he was pronounced dead at about 6 a.m., an hour after the store opened. The cause of death was not immediately known.

A police statement said shortly after 5 a.m., a throng of shoppers "physically broke down the doors, knocking (the worker) to the ground." Police also said a 28-year-old pregnant woman was taken to a hospital for observation and three other shoppers suffered minor injuries and were also taken to hospitals.

The dead worker's name was not released.

"Local authorities are looking into the situation," said Wal-Mart representative Dan Fogleman. But he said it would be "inappropriate for me to share any additional information" until authorities investigate further.

Shoppers around the country lined up early outside stores in the annual bargain hunting ritual known as Black Friday. Many stores open early and stay open late. The Valley Stream Wal-Mart usually opens at 9 a.m.

"If you're arguing with an idiot, make sure he isn't doing the same thing."

Yes that is sad and shows humanity at its lowest level. With any luck they will be able to identify the people in the front of the pack. As far as I am concerned they contributed to the start of the stampede.

Bunch of animals.

when they are having a religious pilgrimage

and here it's happening over the material things we worship .....not so much in celebrating the birth of
JC or it's religious significance.

I sat smugly at my desk today and laughed when it started POURING around midday. All I could think about was ALL those bargain hounds fighting for parking spaces, shopping carts and the last of .....whatever the big ticket item is this year.

I did the "black friday" thing about 4 or 5 years ago when the stores opened early at 7 or 8 am, and made out like a bandit.
Home Depot had a chainsaw on sale for a decent price, and I wanted/needed to get one. Well, the geniuses at HD failed to display the merchandise properly, so when I picked up the chainsaw package and had them scan it, I ended up (when I got home) finding out that the shipping package was shrink wrap around 2 saws, not 1.
I ended up with a 2 for 1 deal.

That's my story, and I'm sticking to it.

I see a SERIOUS lawsuit here. Even before the guy says it in the video I said to myself this guy doing cpr has no clue. I'm not current in cpr certification but all the classes I've taken say you got to get oxygen into the lungs. You can pump all the blood you want but if there isn't oxygen in the lungs your dead period.

Shame this man had to die like this. Absolute sin.

The problem with a lawsuit is this--the guy died and NY has some of the worst wrongful death laws of any state. All his loved ones will likely recover is lost future earnings. If the guy was knocked down and lost consciousness immediately, they probably won't award damages for pain and suffering, and you can't recover for loss of companionship.

Wise men speak because they have something to say; Fools, because they have to say something.

The problem I see with a lawsuit is that the crowd caused his death. Maybe they can identify some of them. As far as I am concerned they should be held accountable too.
