Have you been out yet?

I know it's still early but I just could not wait any more. I went fly fishing yesterday afternoon, the water is still below 40 F with the tide coming in but it was still fun to fially get out. As I was making a cast a river otter popped up about 50 ft away from me, scared me at first but it was pretty cool to see. I figure I can use that as an excuse for not catching anything. I am thinking the herring might have started coming up the river for it to be where it was.

Wink River Otters

I've heard that too. Plus, they taste like chicken!

haha I can't wait to try for my first of the year. The boat goes in April 20th so that's probably when I'll start

Must have been good luck to see it because last night I was out in my kayak trolling a deep swimming orange Rapala and picked up a nice 21" hold over.

That's awesome. I never seem to have any luck with holdovers although I don't fish for them that much.
