Good Show!

Hit the RISAA Show Friday around 1 or so, I think I talked more in 5 hours than I have in the last five months...jeeeez....:

But I also ran into a lot of old friends I don't get to see on a regular basis, a lot of the usual suspects - like Throwing Tin-ber - that's what Uncle Pt Jude Joe calls him anyway..., Steve McKenna ( he's doing a seminar ya gotta catch on Saturday) and the rest of the gang - Johnny, Jess and all the Habs 'elves', Don Afterhours with some unbelievable pluggage (I'll be in touch after April 15th, Don...), Tattoobob, Jake and Elwood Pt Jude, Kadir & Danno, Back Beach, Jimmy Sly,Kevin Kendricks and Uncle Billy from Edward's Tackle, etc, etc - along with the Iron Wonder, Tattoo and Capt. Corey from the Edge.

Also stopped by Big Jay's booth and had the chance to get introduced to his Dad, Don - if you're into tuna, ya gotta check out his Dad's photo album, RI Tuna Tournament & Atlantic Tuna Club photos going back to the '40's that are awesome - turned out his Dad and I had mutual friends from the real good old days - stop by if you get chance -

Unfortunately,Pt Jude Jeff didn't look so hot - looks like he had the same stomach disaster that's going around and he had to bail early - so Joe had to single-hand it was an assist from Jessie Habs.

I was gonna put on Jeff's Pt Jude shirt to help Joe out at the booth but I just don't have Jeff's charisma, so I figured I'd just enjoy the show as a civilian this time around.

All in all a pretty good show, well worth the trip, Aisle 1000 was where most of the action was - although the last aisle with that redhead handing out the estuary restoration material for the EPA really shouldn't be missed -

Hey, they don't call me Crafty for nothin', ya know...

"There is no royal road to this heavy surf-fishing. With all the appliances for comfort experience can suggest, there is a certain amount of hard work to be done and exposure to be bourne as a part of the price of success." From "Striped Bass," Scribner's Magazine, 1881.

Hit it Friday as well. Jeff lasted about 15 minutes - felt bad, he was hurting. But not hurting enough to throw three of his jigs to a guy for nada, who asking about how to catch spring schoolies. You just don't see that often, especially at a show where the goal is to sell.
