solder open-eye hooks, help?

Any suggestions about the need for, or way to, solder open-eye hooks after you crimp them down?

I did some last night, all the time wondering about the need and best way to do it. I used radio shack rosin-core, but will appreciate suggestions, comments and your usual good humor.

Thanks, J

Im not into plug building, but i use a lot of cut hooks and open eyes and just crimp em down. Never had a problem.

Everything is better on the rocks.

Hi,Striper Maine-iac here. One way I found yrs ago that keeps cut hooks closed is epoxy paste. no heat, can use anywhere's,holds great and can be sanded or shaped. On tail hooks and teasers well tie in some extra thread hit it with some duro super glue or zap a gap and it hold s great.Over night works best with all of these as smell of curing agents will drive fish away.

Just crimp them....no need to solder.

Solder is not required, however, anything shy of silver solder would not hold much anyway.
Crimp'em and fish'em.
