If it's about service get Verizon. If it's about the X factor get the iPHONE.

Iphone
I finally got around to getting an Iphone a week ago . Very easy to use, quite intuitive. Figured most of it out without having to read any instructions. The only drawback is that the touch screen is a bit sensitive.

I've had verizon for years. Many have had to borrow my phone while fishing because mine had a sugnal and theirs with another company didn't.

have had them all.
get the bb on verizon.
service is good. phone is good. the phone may not be quite as great as the iphone, but the verizon service is so much better. i think a new verizon bb is coming out sooon? i have the storm and i like it, but i don't know anyone else that does...so if you had to get one now, i guess it would be the curve.

I had Verizon for a very long time. Decided to go with AT&T. They beat Verizon pricing and saved me about $20/month. Service seems to be the same with only 1 dead spot I did not have with Verizon. I'm in central MA though...lotsa towers apparently. Got the Iphone. What a cool little gadget!

I would go for the waterproof G-phone on any of the services.

iPhone, love it. But I got a cheap-azzed phone as well to swap out sim cards while fishing so I don't trash the iPhone.
Mike, the iPhone, is umm, easier for you to learn - trust me.
I can't stress enough though, you do not want an iPhone, or Curve, or Storm, to get wet and trashed on a boat - they will not hold up.

Same experience here. Verizon since Bell Atlantic and Blackberry since I can't remember. Always been happy with both.
I'm partial to full keyboards though, haven't found a touchscreen I could really love but it could be that I just never spent enough time with one. Have the Curve now and it's not as sexy as the iPhone or the Storm but it's been a workhorse for me. Email when I want it and phone when I want it, nothing fancy. Has never crashed on me. Although I'm native to Blackberry I'd say it's very easy to use.
My biggest criticism of the iPhone is I can tell when a text message or email comes from one. Obviously you can blame the user as well but it's just such a common issue.
Get a skin for any of these smartphones/Blackberry, it makes all the difference in durability.

What he said. I don't know about you but it has been more than once that I have seen my phone sloshing around in seawater on deck. I get the cheapest POS phone and it works as good as my sons I-phone. Yeah it doesn't have fart sounds or beer drinking screens or a wanna-be GPS app, but I can retrieve a number for someone a lot easier than any iphone user can. Ask an I phoner for someones number...they peck at the screen for while before they get it. I scroll down the list in seconds with one push.
Also, those phones are not covered if they get wet...There is a small moisture sensitive dot in side and it changes color if moisture was ever present. If they open it up and it is pink, sorry, your %$%$%$%$outofluck. This thing will turn pink on a trip to the beach, it does not have to get wet to crap out.
Plastic bags? good luck with that too. You will need extended coverage contract. IMO they are not worth the added 30/mo + all the fees. It's marketing genius though, they have created a cult for these things. I still think it is a toy that is percieved as some kind of middle class status symbol. My kids wanted them for a christmas gift...WTF?
