Just heard on the news that there is ban on fishing for the next 45 days because of the Zebra mussle threat.

Wow, i didnt hear that. Are zebra mussels in massachusetts already? They are all over in michigan, they spread like wildfire. Totally changed the ecosystem out there.

Everything is better on the rocks.

yes they changed it for the better

from the improved water filtration

but unfortunately they clog up passageways
in the process....

A couple of the western Mass ponds have been closed now as well a few days after mussels where found in one lake. Someone in Boston was reported saying the Quabbin closure could be permanent and all freshwater boat ramps should be closed till the state comes up with a plan to stop the spread of the mussels. Looks like I'll be doing more saltwater fishing now, August was always the best salmon fishing at Quabbin and alot of 5-6 lbs salmon had been being caught!

better to figure out

how to live with them

and use them to our advantage

more practical
