Got lucky with lawn tractor parts today

In the past I have had great difficulty in obtaining parts for my Ingersoll Lawn Tractor. The company had proprietary contracts with thier dealers who were the only ones who could do repair work and parts suppliers, who would only sell to the dealers.

But I called again the distributor in Maine this a.m. for the fourth time over the years and he stated that proprietary stuff was all done with. So the belts I paid $30.00 and $40.00 are only nine and change and twelve and change. I saved so much I ordered a new seat because the other one is killing my butt.

Also I can get all the other parts and possibly at reduced prices, because the distributor is loooking to unload the old stuff. The seat I ordered currently MSRP for 139.95, and he shipped it to me for $55.00. I felt like I hit a home run after all these years. I have 879 hours on the tractors engine, so repairs are not unexpected.
