The water is on fire
The fire is heavy up around Cape Cod these past night. Yiou have to resort to specialized methods to take fish in thses conditions. Saturday night Numby & Son kicked my ass with specialized needlefish ( I did manage a lone 2 lb bluefish)
Last night, dodging tourist with fires on the beach I got skunked at several locales though I did see fish following looking like the Hindenburg in flames just behind the plug.
You folks seeing the same conditions.
It's almost enough to make you want to drop an eel on them.
Oh the humanity!

C'mon flap, you know what to do...12# mono tied direct to whatever they'll take and finesse them in.
Noticed a bunch of fire last night too. Only had one hit in close to four hours, but it was a good one.

It's not the bait

Lots of fire over the weekend where I was swimming. VERY eerie feeling swimming out to a rocky perch looking like Mr. Burns in the Simpson's episode where they think he is a ghost. Plenty of quality fish to be had despite the fire water though.
