Surf Fishing from the Harbor Islands
Hey Guys- I am interested in camping out on the Harbor Islands this month and planning on doing some fishing from shore while I am out there. From what I've read, camping is only allowed on Grape, Bumpkin, Peddocks, and Lovells Islands. Can anyone give me some tips on which islands might be best for fishing? A PM would be greatly apprecited! Thank you as always!

I've camped on Grape before, but I wouldn't say it is the best for fishing. I'd try Peddocks. Lots of rocky shoreline and deep water nearby (Hull Gut). Lots of poison ivy, ticks, and rodents on all the islands.

Thanks for all of your input. So far I've found out that the islands are loaded with poison ivy, rodents and ticks...Either that is true or the islands are LOADED with fat, hungry stripers!! What is a man to do??? Ha! Thanks again for the input guys.

The boston Harbor islands national Park is the youngest unit in the National Park System. Over the last few years there have been some major improvements to some of the islands. Not many people go fish these islands hard but those that do understand this might be the most underrated surf fishgi destination in New England. The Islands are surorunded by Pogies most of the season, have multiple River Herring Runs in front or around them and Macks also surround them at certain times of year. Some of the best hight line fishermen around call these islands home and most fish in tight thus, to answer your question...HEll yeah the fishgin is greeeatt if you are in the right spot on the right tide in the right wind.
Go for it
Good luck
