Fishing with my son

After a few years of my son doing his own thing with his friends and not fishing much if any I got to take Joe and his friend Ryan and introduce him to drive on surf fishing, We were fishing Sea worms on the bottom and it has been somewhat slow this week, we managed a few small fish and when I saw one rod double over in the sand spike I yelled Joe go get that rod. after a nice screaming drag and a good battle Joe pulled this fish in (of course I was his coach) I was the rod caster and master-baiter of the night

The fish came in at 21 pounds and 39 1/2 inches

Outstanding, Bob...

Congrats to your son...and I'll bet the old coach was pretty proud too

Nice Bob. And to have a fish as well is just icing, isn't it? Good to see they can come home again! Does the heart good.

i used to fish a lot as a kid, when I became a teen and early/mid twenties, I did my own thing and it wasnt fishing... got back into it 4 years ago at age 29... I look back and cant believe how much energy and free time I had that wasnt spent fishing... youth is wasted on the young
