Surprise in the mail today

Got a package from my Father-in-law in Japan. Usually they send snacks and things for the kids, so I didn't open it right away, wife opens it and says I think it's for you. He sent me a Shimano Bantam 2000L fishing reel in almost new condition. Looks like it is big and hefty enough for tuna, but will probably be used for stripers, unless I get a 2nd motor to back up the 175 merc to take the boat off shore next season.

Any one use this type of reel before and how did it work for you?
