Still getting plenty of casting practice I've given up on the notion of actually catching anything though.

Will likely keep at it for another month or so

Home life dictates I get out ~once a week. That really outs a crimp on Fall Fishing as it is WICKED spotty this year.

I'll get out when I can unless Things tick up where it will be worth being in the dog house. So I'm a report watcher for now.

I won’t hang it up until after Thanksgiving weekend at the earliest. Starting to cut back on the number of trips though, my last trip was Friday night and it was pretty slow only had a few small fish in 5-6 hours of fishing. Hoping to do some more blackfishing as well before winterizing the boat if my schedule and the weather cooperate.

Casting Practice- well said. At this point if a fish actually went after my plug I would be too surprised to set the hook.

I'll keep fishing but slowly transition into the not-too-exciting but very-tasty activity of smelt fishing. Almost always catch at least a few bass in November but the way this last week has been has got me wondering...

Still at it.

Like the years past, 2nd week of December then trout fishing until the water gets stiff, if no stiff water then trout fish till April with waders on.

Why even try.........

Sat at the Herring run parking lot today in the nice warm sun this morning on one of those park benches around 10 am bumping into canalman, luds, and hunan, only people I saw at canal. No fish breaking and did not make a cast. left at noon. Was hoping for something on the east turn. Nutin. Still going to give it a try for a few more weeks, but not just at canal. Still hoping for a few days of southerly winds so I can take tin out front of Sandy Neck but doesn't look too good for that this week. Maybe Numbskull will ask me to go out off the islands for a last ditch effort like last year. That was around Nov. 7th I think. I hung it up after that.

I've hung up the gear 'til next year.
I'm shifting my attention and energy over to fresh for trout and the coming ice season.

In my ledger this will be the season that wasn't!
It all began with the spring weather and climaxed with two weekend nor'easters.

B Harbor is now definitely done, not even a nibble today, unless you count the bluefish biting my pollack in half. Time to hit Cuttyhunk tomorrow and the rest of the week.

Still catching. Was at dusk today No trophies, but catching sure beats the alternative......

I had some of my best fishing for numbers (though not for size) last year on the weekend of the 8-9 of November. I left them biting both nights, figuring I'd end the season with a catch. The fish were shorts, but not micros--all in the 22" to 26" range.

Of course, I succumbed to the temptation of a 60 degree night the following Friday and got skunked.

I felt more rejection than a telemarketer.

I only have gotten serious about fishing since getting laid off Sept. 4. Since then I have fished almost every day or night. I have only landed 4 bluefish and 1 bass. the last one was about 3 weeks ago. I have spent a good chunk of my unemployment checks on the next "magic" plug. I will keep fishing until I lose every plug and my unemployment runs out. My wife thinks I am an idiot.
