Take a stranger fishing...

most of us have done it, we've been at an event and while talking fishing, have made "plans" to get together and fish...unfortunatly, it rarely happens.. it's not intentional, time and life just gets in the way.

Every season I make an effort to take a few people that are un able to get out bass fishing, out with me, but rarely are they seasoned vets.. so usualy, I spend the night ( or day) untangling lines, unhooking fish or d#^&#^&#^&#^&#^&g to avoid a hook sunk into my own hide...

Most of the fisherman from my youth have passed on... I've lost a few fishing partners, most recently we ( the site) and others lost a dear friend and fellow fisherman, one that I had made "plans" to fish with at plugfest two years ago and never got around to it..

so here's my proposal, using this thread ( Mods maybe could make it a sticky if there is enough interest) members here could make a "plan" to fish with a fellow member and see it thorough, post the pictures of the outing here for everyone to share, you dont have to reveal your "secret" spots, hell you dont even have to catch any fish ( something I always feel obligated to do) just go out and do what we all love to do.. fish and B.S... I feel this would not only enrichen all of our lives, but it would give others a perspective on what it is like to fish a different patch of "land" because we all come from different landscapes, I feel it would be an enlightening experience ...

To kick it off... I'll be on vacation the first week of June, normaly by then there are enough big fish around to make it worth it, that week I normaly live line mackerel in the river, it's shallow water fishing and often the action is explosive, some days, you can toss a spook to the the chasers and double your pleasure.., so if someone would like to spend a day rocking and rolling in the Merrimack river we'll make a plan....

None of us are getting any younger.. who knows one of us just might end up with a new fishing partner..

Could someone please move this, I thought I was in the Striper talk forum...sorry.

Good idea Joe, I hope everyone follow thru also.

I tried to get together to fish with someone from plugfest a few years ago who asked me also, it didn't happen for one reason or another the last 2 years but hopefully it can happen next year. I think it's a great thing to see how the others' fish.

I can also try to make some plans to take someone fishing in May, if you are interested Joe, maybe that will work for you someday in May when we have large down here before yours arrive.

great idea Joe. We talked about that when we saw each other last weekend. Please keep some nite in August open for me.
I hope it wasn't me Bruce, but I did beg you to come get a parking ticket during that Albie zoo. I like the idea Joe and I will try my best to get several out this year for some fishing. Already talked to Lawrence about doing some weekday tin boat fluke fishing in a river.

Great idea to take a stranger fishing.....

and I will be at TFCTFN with a open dance
card. I can tango, waltz, foxtrot and
twist for SB, flounder, blues, pollock, tuna
haddock on land or on sea. June, July and
August I have weekdays open and will
always have cold beer on hand. Am I beggin'???
So we can't all be sharpies, top rods, high liners,
big deals etc....One thing is an endless supply of
conversation, jokes, banter and anecdotes
between hits. See ya on the beach.
Stranger than ever! God am I humbling myself???
Disgraceful.

As I said in an earlier version of my signature: "Have boat willing to travel to fish". I target any fish in season, from Boston Harbor to Stellwagon area to Block Is., right now have all 7 days of the week open and any week of the year. Looking for 1st mates where the only qualification is ???? (I'll have to think about that for a while, but I did take BigFish). Only potential showstoppers going forward are 1) I get a job so there goes many week days and 2) I don't get my boat fixed (need a new 150HP Suzuki) but discussions are progressing OK.

Qualification: you don't puke all over my boat! You can bleed just don't puke.

well to throw in another angle , its what I am trying to do here (take other guys fishing in my case retired guys ), so if someone is over our way and the weather is half way decent give me a call or email and we can show a bit of local hospitality get you a decent dinner of fish , you never know its only over the big pond and you might reciprocate if I get over there

Well i think i would like to give this a go.I could take one or two come last of May or after. Can't guarantee an all nighter anymore but I might be able to find a fish or two

I feel I owe Roccus a return favor If he ever wants to fish a foreign place. He seems to be a giver rather than a taker and I,d like to repay some favors and maybe jog his memory of places he,s been a while ago.

i've never been to an event, i fish alone, but it is nice to be on a beach with everybody landing fish and getting caught up in the action. it's fun watching people getting excited, especially kids, a common thread, it's great to share, makes you feel good.
