Heering updates???

My local tackle store owner has reports of herring on Cape Cod. How 'bout it? Are they showing where you are?

Has anyone ever tried keeping live herring in a bait pen at their slip??? I built one this winter figuring I would stock up on live baits in the next few weeks and put them to use in May, but some have told me they won't keep... what do ya think???

-Thanks, Hooper

Hoop! Howya doing... do a search thru the past couple months on herring pens and you'll see some... As for keeping them now, you should wait as the probably won't keep and at least give 'em a chance to spawn first...

Saw at least 200 today in the mattapoisett river.... and that was just as far as I could see from the Rte 6 Bridge! The gulls were whooping it up and trying to drag them to shore. Didn't see any successful attempts though . Getting closer!
