Here's a video one of my buddies and his friends from st. mikes made a week ago with the Go Pro at Jay Peak. Windy as hell evidently, as jay (a.k.a. "Jizz") is huddling on the chair lift and mike, my buddy, is scared of the tram haha. By the way Mike, broke his back in a skiing accident in aspen 2 years ago. After an amazing recovery, he's back at the slopes......
Thing is sweeeet. waterproof to 200 meters. In a rugged case and the video quality is pretty good. This is the 200 dollar one i think w/o the HD video feature. im thinking of getting one. Does anyone here have any experience with them, or any suggestions?

ya they dont have night vision, i asked one of the online support guru's. But that seemed to work good under low light conditions. Headlamp would probly be more than enough.
I took it underwater on my vacation. It has an underwater case. and a second one with openings for regular conditions. It comes with a few mounts so it is pretty versitile. It is very wide angle so there is some "fisheye" effect around the perimeter of an image or video.
It can take stills at various times, three at a time, timer mode, and of course video. I got a 16 GB card that will hold hours of video.
No viewfinder, you just kind of point it in the direction of the target, but it is so wide angle you get everything. I intend to get lots of use from it in the boat this season. I will put a mount on the boat windshield and mount it for the day.
Here's a image captured from a gopro video I took on vacation.

I can show you the one I got, if you want, before you pull the trigger...

I want one for snowboarding pretty bad. I go on the website and just watch the videos people post. Camera is pretty sick. As more of you get them post reviews for us who are on the fence.
i had mine for a year, broke the lens last week in costa rica while charging batterry..great camera...keep in mind if you bustthe lens, becouse its fixed to the camera, its irrepearable
Son #1 gave me one for Xmas .. They were at Cosco for like $170.00 ... I had to get an SD card .. they said the 32GB would give the best performance so that's what I got $100 for that .. Now I just have to watch this video about 100 times ,,

Thanks for sharing this, it reminds me of my youth.... Now I'm an old fart that can just barely walk up and down stairs.
I plan on using mine sight fishing this summer and I will be asking for your advise....

Hey boss, I'm curious why I don't see the video link, yet I see the picture still posted. There are numerous times I see videos posted, don't see them, see many posts suggesting others see them fine, what am I missing or is my business blocking (usually look at lunch).
That picture is amazing. I already pulled the trigger on the 1080P and the package arrived today. I am still waiting for the LCD screen accessory.
That pic is captured from a video.
You will have to tell me what the LCD accessory is.
See you Wednesday.

An update. I received my Go Pro Hero HD and then got the accessory LCD screen "BakPac" because there is no viewfinder and I plan to set up some funky angles and do not want to have to guess.
I had many issues with the brand new camera and the "firmware" install for the LCD Screen that I stopped using the LCD Screen. I then found many issues with just the camera and it seems there are many people making the same complaints on some of the online Go Pro Forums.
I finally had time and called the company and within ten minutes had a return authorization number for the camera only. I sent it to California via post office priority mail (2 day) and Go Pro received the camera, tested it and had a new camera to me in LESS THAN A WEEK from my phone call. In today's world of piss poor customer service that impressed me.
I now seem to have a working camera and LCD and now can get out there and use it.

l thanks for the review Patrick, look forward to the go pro thread!
So Mike (the one in the video -500 points for being scared of the tram) went back to Aspen this past month to see his friends who work at Hamilton sports in town, who are of course very framiliar with the go pro, and gave him a head mount (head lamp strap) and the chest mount for the thing. he says a new edit is in the making, we were going over songs last night to include in the vid
My buddy has the HD version and it is the balls! That was a really cool vid. I miss Jay! I ski'd it a ton but haven't been back in a long time. My friend used the Go Pro a lot this year and I got in one of the vids and posted it here in the Scuppers forum I think. It was a Tuckermans thread. I was up at Cannon on 3/26 and he is editing all the tree skiing footage we took in there!
here's installment #2 for The duff's Go Pro Edit. Nothing crazy, pretty good for the year after coming back from spinal injury though!! This will be the last video of snow anywhere on the site I PROMISE. Its only images of sunshine and fish from here on out
Awesome, never skied Aspen and never will, looks like a lot of fun! I like how you can hear the background noise over the music at times. Can't wait to try mine during the blitzes!
Also, the way you start in the car, like in the last video, I think makes the video....

It is truly epic mike! I visited him for a week a few years ago (during the time the Green Jump suit vid was made)
Just for the record these videos are not of me! They are of my best friend from high school mike duffy. Fishing clips soon to come!
