Moon or Minus????

Very interesting lunar calendar when compared to predicted tides at the Canal this May & June.

This will be the first time in a few years where moons and minus tides are not lined up.

To quote one of our fine Ditch Obsessed long time members (HI Hi Vic), it's not as clear this year when the fish are most likely to show up.

The big question is...what is more influential on the fish in the Canal...Moon or Minus Tides.

After Plug Fest today I got the itch really badly.

I'm not a canal expert by any means, and only fish it 4 or 5 times a year. But I would think minus tides have a greater influence because of the affect on the speed of the current and thus the impact on how the bait moves (or doesn't move) through the canal. Of course, this is only a WAG.

Three-fourths of the Earth's surface is water, and one-fourth is land. It is quite clear that the good Lord intended us to spend triple the amount of time fishing as taking care of the lawn.
