Saw this on the news the other night. The company wont even send the bottle unless they know the restaurant is really realy snobby enough. $40,000.00 per bottle.

That's crazy.

Having worked in some nice restaurants in my career, I've been able to try some very expensive wines, champagnes and liquors.

None of them have been worth 1,500.

The mews in Wakefield has a great collection of scotches and whiskies.

When I worked for this high end seafood company we went to Boston at very high end place and were given some great samples.

But being 21 at the time I over indulged and can't recall what I drank. It's a shame really. I know we were drinking some very expensive stuff and might never have again. young and dumb.

I don't care how rich you are , only a damned fool would spend $1500 on a shot of Cognac

not only that

but after say a $150.00 shot or two

you couldn't tell the difference (OR CARE)

between that and a $15.00 dollar shot

so what is the point....?

The point is to show off. His bentley is probably outside and no one saw him pull up in it. So buying 1500 dollar shots is his way of showing how much money he has.

I don't get it, having worked in restaurant business for most of my life, I see this all the time. People paying 3 to 6 times what a bottle cost, just to impress their friends or business people.
