sharking the surf

i'm spending the last week of august on the vinyard and told my brothers in law we'd give sharking from shore a try. any thoughts on which part of the island to target them from? not looking for a spot just which body of water to target- vinyard sound, nan sound or the southside. the only brown i've ever caught was in vinyard sound in the boat. looks fun from shore

my 1st wife didn't like me fishing so much

This is something ive been wanting to try for a while now. Cant imagine landing a big shark at night in the surf.

Probably some good beaches on the cape that would produce too.

South facing beaches in the shallows. Not necessarily in the heavy surf.
Good chunk of fresh bluefish and a long leader to compensate for there tail hitting the line.
Weve caught sandbars up to 100 pounds or so off Nantucket sometimes a dozen a night.
