Fishing Cape Ann

Spoiled another beginner. Took a person that has never fished for stripers before and he is 68 years old. Yesterday he caught his first striper, a 46 inch fish and weighed 45 lbs. and we had four more fish. He was very happy.

Was not caught with a flyrod ,live mackerel

My biggest striper on a fly rod is 43 lbs. a year ago. A friend and I were fishing in close to the shore from the boat and I sighted a pod of big stripers, took a couple of cast and bingo, hit the fly. Just lucky.
