towing services
gentlemen I'm having a difficult time deciding between the available towing service providers. I know I will be going with an unlimited towing service as well as the package which covers the trailer, as I trailer 100% of the time. I'll be fishing primarily fishing narragansett bay, with trips around block island sound and occasionally buzzards bay. I'm 19' at the water line and 20'+ overall. Between sea tow, tow boat US and other service providers which would best suit my needs. I do not mind paying a little more for better service/response if necessary. Thanks in advance.

I've got BostUS and used their boat towing once, never the trailer towing. I had great service and no hassle on the bill, didn't pay a Cent! Was told the bill to a non-member would have been in excess of $2500 (Peaked Hill Bar to Sesuit).

I use safe sea out of Wickford and thankfully have never had to call them. I've heard some grumbling about them on other web sites. I see them on the bay all the time and know they would be able to get to me quickly. I pay $150 per yr.

At least you got provisions from my crew before you left.......
But on a serious note, Mike. You have Sea Safe, but the service boat was SeaTow??????? I ask because I have gone without for past two years....

I had unlimited from towboat us, I used it last year and it saved me 750 for one tow. They charge by the hour from the time you make the call, no matter how long it takes them to get to you.

Boat U S Towed twice and no hassale.
Reminder, if tied to your dock and you need a tow from Boat U S untie boat from dock and push off and anchor or they may charge you 50 bucks. The guy was pretty nice and did not charge me the 50 bucks. Had to be towed from my dock to the marina

Ross, I also have Safe Sea. They have towed me twice and were on scene in 10 minutes. I love those guys.

Sea Tow 4 me. Take it from someone who's been towed 6 times since 08, twice this year. They're service is prompt, and professional. Most of them have been about 10 miles away and crossing buzz bay.
About 3 weeks ago as I'm being towed to the ramp he gets another call that someone lost power after hitting rocks. His job was to put my boat on the trailer before responding to another call. He asked me if I could put my boat on without his assistance, at first I said no then being that the ramp was the worst zoo I've ever been in,, I told the guy to tie me up.
The head SeaTow guy left his homestead on a Sunday afternoon to meet me at ramp to see if I needed help and thanked me. my motor is fixed

Geez Goose what is up with that.....6x holy crap. Maybe just a ploy so no one asked to go fishing with you.........
SeaTow for me too, but never had to call yet. Been on a friends boat 27mi east of Scituate on the other side of the bank and they came, no problem.

why? I use boat US, but I have no allegiance. I have never had to use them - knock on wood. I also like having the trailering coverage that is only a few bucks more...
But like I said, I could easily be convince to switch...

to my knowledge they have the most (and newest) boats, very professional crew and good response times, most of the time. In a past job I butted heads with the owner MANY times but like I said when it comes down to it, if there was a boat that needed a tow or was in distress, often Safe Sea beat the CG.
