I was just doofing around the Harbor
The Kalmar Nyckel has visited P-town the last few years. They sell tours and short cruises. It's a faithful 1600s reproduction. Every square inch of that boat is a work of art..

I can smell the cormorants just looking at that picture. Is that the breakwater or the jetty?

Three-fourths of the Earth's surface is water, and one-fourth is land. It is quite clear that the good Lord intended us to spend triple the amount of time fishing as taking care of the lawn.

People get confused which is breakwater and which is jetty...it's the one in front of the wharf. To me they're both breakwaters.

You're right, they are both breakwaters. I think the local term for the structure that runs out to Wood End is "the jetty."
We were inside the "breakwater" (by the wharf) for the 4th of July fireworks watching from the boat..and you should have seen the cormorants and gulls take off when the first couple of salvos went off.

There are no better fireworks anywhere than those you can watch from Truro and Provincetown. The private displays are very good plus you get to watch all the fireworks on the Cape at the same time.
We watch from just South of Cold Storage Beach in North Truro and have for decades.
In the water from a boat just has to be awesome!!

We usually watch from Corn Hill beach or Noons Landing and you're right, if it's clear, you can see fireworks across the bay in Pymouth around to Bourne and Barnstable.
