Pfeffer Wounded Shiner Reproduction

Pfeffer was a plugmaker who made wooden plugs from the 1930s to the middle 1960s in Orlando, FL. He is best known for his Orlando Shiners and his unique Banana Lure. Here is a link to more information on his lures...

Joe's Old Lures - Antique Florida Lures - Jim Pfeffer Lures

The up sized plug I made is 5.5 inches long (wood section) and weighs about 2.7 oz. It has a fore and aft spinning prop and is center weighted with one big belly wt. It is configured as a wounded minnow to swim one side down.

Silver spots applied with thin dowel ... I like the texture that results from this method...

Now I am making one of his larger banana baits...

Hooks are intact 3/0 VMCs

Screw-eye construction with 1.25 inch SS screweyes epoxied into the cedar
