I can't believe the repair history I've had with mine. Westport Appliance has probably made more than this thing cost new in repairs over the years. They're getting no more of my money.

Wife says it won't drain. OE error code.

Clean the filter, nothing except some lint and part of a broken toothpick. Try and run it...still won't drain. Now it's full of water and of course the drain hose is clogged. Fix that and spend the next 20 minutes filling the dog bowl about 30 times.

Flip it up and check the bellows underneath, everything is clean.

To get to the pump you have to remove the top, the soap tray, screws, control panel, screws, front gasket, screws, front panel...jesus.

Pull the pump out. Looks clean. 15 ohms right in spec. Rip the pump apart...and find the rest of the toothpick in the impeller, all 1/2" of it.

Reassemble pump, get the front on, gasket, control panel. Realize I forgot to reattach the drain hose

Remember I can access from the bottom so I fix it there. Plug it in...and just get an electrical hummm

Turn the water on and it works fine

All that for a piece of toothpick. At least I learned something.

I had the same thing with my maytag duet washer. Except mine was a quarter, dime and a marble. Ruined the pump. I couldn't believe how much I had to take it apart to get to it. Cement counterweights explain why the thing was a nightmare carrying it down the stairs. But at least it worked again. And of course the boy got a good " clean your damn pockets out before putting your stuff in the laundry" speech. Hasn't happened again since then.

If you would pay attention you'd know I sold all my Armani coats.

Only Brooks Brothers I have are heavy tweed. Good made in Italy ones...nice fabric. Too warm for those.

I only own one bow tie. A nice grosgrain Ralph Lauren Purple Label that I wear with black tie.

Ascot, I don't have any.

It did wear a t-shirt which got quite wet with all the water on the floor.

Unfortunately no, just a crew. All my sweaters are v neck though...

As for good cotton, all my undershirts are Sunspel. Really soft and lightweight although you can't put them in the dryer.

Look at this as an opportunity. You get to spend the next X years keeping a good eye on what your kid is into as you progress from marbles and rocks (lots of rocks) to lego mini-figs and parts of mini-figs, to whatever is next.

Just remember to run a load of your yardwork clothes or the wife's in between the kids load and the work / nice causal for the errant jolly rancher that makes it past inspection.

I'm sure my wife uses my clothes as the buffer from the kid's

OMG
My oldest son is turning into Spence.He has to be the only freshman wearing cashmere v-necks to school.Lot of those polo colored v-neck t's too.

Usually he's pretty good. I don't find a lot of junk and the filter is at least easy to get at.

I trust my wife less. She's apt to toss something red into a load of my wet clothes sitting in the washer. I don't let her do any of my laundry.

Spence, I'm impressed as well. If I have to remove more than 8 screws to fix something, it gets replaced. I'm handy, but I don't have the patience for fixing appliances unless it's something easy.

Sea Dangles, you're son will probably soon be dating hot sophmore and junior chicks because he dresses better than all the kids wearing track pants to school. Girls notice the well dressed kids at that age.

I have fixed a couple of stoves and one of the older washers I had. Can get the parts in Brockton for everything. We bought a couple of years ago the new Maytags with no spindle in the middle of the washer. Save water, electricity, and so on, but has to be cleaned with HE cleaner. Different but working out o.k.
