Bloofish Bonanza...
I fished one of my favorite stretches of Long Island's (NY) south shore from 11 p.m. Friday night thru 6 p.m. Saturday, pausing only an hour or so for sleep.
The bluefish hype that you might be hearing on other fishing boards is TRUE.
The razor-lipped torpedoes are HUNGRY and AGGRESSIVE and TUG HARD, and they are here in HUGE NUMBERS.
Tally of bluefish for me:
I LOST COUNT AFTER THE FIRST THREE DOZEN.
Tally of striped bass:
Seven, with only two that were 28 inches or longer.
This seems to indicate that the school of larger fish has moved out and is New England-bound.
The bluefish invasion is sure to please - I for one am grateful to these ferocious critters for the fun they provide!
Get those poppers, tins and bucktails warmed up!

Will show you a pic of a dozen crew-cutted bucktail jigs, torn pork rind tails, and some chewed up wood. It was a sacrifice, but worth it.

I went mental on those razor toothed bastages today and they went mental on my gear. Caught more blues today than in the last 3 years combined. I got one chromed lead tin that has tooth marks over every inch, and about a third of the chrome left.
And it'll be another good 3 years before I go out looking for 'em on purpose

Mike-that's the point I was trying to get across. My arms fell off and...no joking, me groin was kinda sore from holding the rod butt between my legs while retrieving me lure.
Clammah...can you refer me to a professional?
Bassmastah...I'm getting ready bubbah, can't wait!

FWW -
That's great!!! You need to go back to the same place where you fished (4 days) after the full moon! I am sure things will change and you will not regret it! ;-)
