Weekapaug breechway

Anyone fishing that area tonite?

I may have to go to Stonington after work and If I do I'm bringing the rod with me to fish some. How late are the bait shop open?

Is the high tide around 5:30?

Had a nice couple of hours fishing last night. Was fishing with the new Storm WildEye Swim Shad holographic, 4" long Shiner in Chatreuse Silver color.

I started fishing around 5:45pm, tide was still comming in and not another person in sight. I fished from the bridge down to the end of the breechway with a couple of hits but no fish landed. Fished both sides while walking out on the rocks, and got my first fish on the beach side of the rocks. Landed 3 more fish the next hour, to bad none was keepers.

Across the breechway was another person fishing and I saw him with at least 2 stripers that he let go. By the time I left to go home I had seen a total 7 people fishing and only 2 that had any luck.

I introdused myself to 2 people fishing, (you know who you are) that said they knew who I was from reading posts here. Nice to meet you and I hope to see you fishing this summer.

Never had much luck there early in the year....
That place seems to be better on rainy days - around dusk - in late summer, and then the night tides from September on can produce. I've seen herring and big squid in the Charlestown Breachway this time of year.

Joe,
Thanks. I'm so new to fishing here in RI that I have to do my dues learning where the good spots are. Last summer was my first season fishing here. I'll try another spot next time I go down and if I'm lucky I meet an oldtimer that can show me the ropes...... eeeeh secret spots
