Old Surf Rod ID Please
Guys,
Anyone have an idea of what this rod is? I got it about 20 years ago when I was 15 from a old timer in Plymouth. Not sure if this was custom made or mass produced. Someone said it might be a Honey Lami? Not sure. Any info would be great. One piece about 10' or so long.

The point on the but of the rod was designed so that you could push it into the sand for a rest when beach fishing.
I would guess the someone hung out with the old-MURAT-gang as guys of that error had but points on rods

That is an old Murrat but from way back. He gave tham to some of the old gang. I've got a couple of his rods with them on the butts.I'd say someone was putting an old conventional set up for a squidder together for themselves and was trying to save a bit an did it themselves. weren't no books around locally on rod building for a few yrs till Clemons did his besides the old Herters book.

Early 60's. Could be either an old Lami or a Fenwick blank. Back then there wasn't a load of diff in the color.

I was thinking Fenwick myself.

I was thinking same but one of the Murrats on the wall is a lami and has the same color shade. The taper looks fenwick.
