Leaders

What do you mormally use for leaders for stripers? Floro, mono?
Also what lb test do you recommend for fishing stripers?

Knotless tapered Flourocarbon leaders, I've never had luck using straight mono for a leader. 12lb is the lowest I would go and 20lb would be the max.

20# mono or flouro, fluoro sinks better than mono. Make sure it's clear if had stripers not hit because I had blue line for a leader.

20 pound Mono when fishing a beach or estuary. Occasionally I'll use Fluro if fishing a flat but my success rate Flats fishing is not good.

Charlie,

The leader I start with is about 9 feet. When the leader get's down to about 6 feet I change it out. Whenever I use anything less than 20 pound test it seems I lose fish in the wash.

Thanks Rich. I agree with the 20 lbs., but a couple of guys we know prefer 15lbs.
