New Conventional Reel...

Old age is a terrible thing. It turns your hair white and makes your memory fade. :-(.

I recall reading about a new convential reel that is being made in here in the USA.
But, I cannot rember the name of it. I went through my On Water Magazines, but I cannot find it. Does any one recall seeing it?

Avet is made in California, I believe Accurate reels are also USA made. USA Reels. however are imported. The name is a scam.

Avet and Ardent reels are both made in the U.S.A.

Be encouraging, not discouraging

Great feedback. The real that I saw is similar in style to an Avet. I will go through each OTW issue for 2011. I am pretty sure that's where I saw it. I'll post back once I find it. It really looked like it would be a great reel for the jigging the canal.

Aside: I really gotta like take more vitamins and stuff to increase my memory. ;-)

Probably an Atlas Reel, but I don't think they are made in the USA.

Just checked, indeed Acurrate reels are made in California, not overseas.

Yes canyons are made in New Jersey. We met the owners brother last year at the New England Saltwater show.

Canyon reels are mostly machined in Japan then assembled in NJ. The Atlas may be the same. The other possibility on the Atlas is that they could be made by OMOTO in Taiwan. There are a couple of Asian companies making AVET knockoffs.
