Janet Coit, Director of RIDEM told me she was trying to get something done. DEM wasn't happy with the Pair trawling but there was considerable commercial and political pressure to keep it in place. Congrats to Director Coit for doing something.

Also sounds like the ban is probably only there until Rhode Island gets its own processing in place

I would imagine this only extends out 3 miles. You will need federal action to extend that. Something like a 50 mile buffer would make more sense.

It seems like they are telling them exactly what is needed for a simple fix. Set up a processing facility in state and you can do whatever you like.
