Anyone else get a laugh every time they shove a camera in front of one of the family members of the so called victims that Whitey killed ?
They get caught up in that life and end up dead thats their problem.

I don't know about that Ron, some were forced into that life and all were fathers, daughters, sons of someone. I get pissed Bulger and his GF are treated like celebs around here. Public hanging for both of them and the crooked cops and politicians that are just as guilty.

There's random crime victims, victims of mistaken identity, victims of bad luck, but not too many victims of organized crime. The organized crime the Irish and Italian run, don't engage in killing for no reason. They don't kill randomly, they don't do drive-by shootings. They don't have members "make their bones" by killing any white person they can find like the Crips.

People choose to get involved in that life - with the exception of top-tier crime families, who are born into it. No one forces you to become a degenerate gambler. If you're a criminal operating in their territory, you're expected to pay a tribute as part of doing business and to be sharp enough not to rob people who are paying for protection. Unfortunately, a lot criminals are stupid, and they end up dead over it.

Exactly.
One of the so called "victims" family members who gets in front of the news camera every chance he gets, I worked with the guy some years ago.
One of these times I want a reporter to ask him about his criminal past.
My friend hired him as a favor to someone after he was released from prison.
He was quite the scum bag along with the rest of his crazy family.

Hollywood made lots of movies we love about Al Capone, Charlie Luciano, Bugsie Siegel and others.
Who hasn't loved watching the Godfather !

My friend eventually ended up firing the guy for embezzlement and a bunch of other things.

My Grandfather was a foot patrolman for the Providence Police Dept, he retired in 1955 or so. His beat was Federal Hill. He made exactly one arrest in twenty years - shop lifting. Never pulled his gun. There was no crime on Federal Hill. He'd get an envelope once a month to not hassle any card games or search through certain people's cars. It was organized crime, highly organized. He was like a friendly neighborhood Irish cop. He would help people who got hit by cars, or stuck in the snow, and he pulled some people out of fires.
He was there mainly as a first responder when someone was hurt that had nothing to do with crime. As far as arresting bad guys? Nada. That was the Feds gig and he didn't get involved.
