All i do is Texas rigged now.
The tandem is just too much work IMO. Besides, all that tailbook is good for is bloos. You get far better action with one hook as opposed to two hooks anyway.

In agree with Nebe.
I fish a lot of different plastic around the eel grass beds near where I live.Sometimes the bass are tight up against the beds so I started Texas rigging.Unfortunately I have not found a decent saltwater grade worm hook that is truly saltwater grade.

Owner beast hooks work the nuts, 8/0 for 9" Sluggos...they're a bit pricey, but the $ you'll save on buying Sluggos will make up for it. Much less tearing than you get with 2 hook Sluggos.

Red top has some sweet "worm" hooks. I forget the brand but they're right in front of you as you walk in the door, on the isle devider, just past the canal buck tails. They're big enough to rig a 14" Hogeyb and strong as hell.
