They sure as hell are hitting eels short...
Had a runner last night take the eel with him, was even rigged right!
Atleast its full knowledge that they're there...
Now to find a way to rig a teaser on a live eel....

Let the eel go solo, more weedless and less chance for tangles at night.

I usually don't use a teaser with an eel but have a little and want to do more this year and will, especially in rocky areas. Hang the teaser from a swivel - what's the big deal (other than paying 1000% attention) or am I missing something???

When you do tie on a teaser, do you tie it to the ring attached to your mainline or the ring attached to the hook? I would guess you tie it to the mainline ring to give it some seperation.

that would be a stinger hook. I wouldn't try that with a live eel, it's hard enough to keep him from knotting up with one hook in him.

Is it good, or is it Sofa King good?

Any Striped Bass worth catching will take that eel head first. The smaller fish grab the eel by the tail and run off to smack it in the rocks and try to get it lined up to eat.
Who wants those little "Tail Biters"? Not me!
Give that eel a head hook and get it out there and catch a decent sized fish!
Have fun doing it!
Good Luck
Good Fishing.

Yeah, you're right putting some thought into it about the habits of the elusive striper
The shorts always tail fish.... like a blue...

Fishsmith,
Tie it to the ring that is attached to the hook otherwise you could have two fish that could pull apart the barrel swivel.
