Warmest year in 117 years

So far , this year is the warmest in the Northeast in 117 years , maybe more. Its the warmest since records have been kept. Now I'm not a global warming believer , in fact I think its bunk but no denying this year is hot!

Now that was great in Jan , Feb and march but in July and August it sucks. Anyway , I found this interesting.

i hit a local freshwater pond yesterday in my waders and the water was almost hot! i was standing on a sand bar after a short walk thru waist deep water, i couldnt believe how HOT the water was.

fish didnt seem to care and got my first largemouth on a weedless frog, love top water.

Tom your right about that, find myself cooloing off numerous times throughout the night when im out

I used to belong to a sportsman's club that had a stocked trout pond. This time of year it was very common for fish to start going belly up as the water got too hot. If it rained a lot no problem as numerous streams would bring the cooler rain water into the pond but after a hot spell and no rain , the trout would die a dozen a day. We used to encourage people to catch all they could before the water got too hot. The native fish survived no problem but the trout couldn't take the heat.

Cool swims in the ocean are great but no way i would go wetsuiting in the ocean around here anymore. "Just when you thought it was safe to go back in the water..."

July 2012, averaged across the continental US, was the hottest single month on record. Ever.

Yeah , I never brew in July and August. You just can't get down to the fermentation temps I like , even in the coolest corner of the cellar.
